This original first printing poster is reinforced with rice paper around corners and edges (see photo).
This poster was produced for the Velvet Underground's January 1969 shows at the Boston Tea Party. According to Lou Reed, the venue was the Velvets' "favorite place to play in the whole country", and Boston adored the group just as much. The historic Boston Tea Party was located at 53 East Berkeley Street in the South End from 1967-1969 before moving to its new location at 15 Lansdowne Street in 1970. Material from the Boston Tea Party is ALWAYS coveted by collectors and music fans alike. The print runs were minuscule, so the survival rates are painfully low. The hottest pieces were absorbed into top collections decades ago and rarely come up for sale.
Condition Details: reinforced with rice paper.
