$2,160.00
Starting bid: $10.00
In July of last year, we auctioned a lesser quality condition example of this rare poster (with tape, stains, tape stains, pinholes) for $2,160.00. This example you see here is NEAR MINT! Do not pass up this opportunity!
Due to their high status in the history of Rock and Roll, early Led Zeppelin material demands some of the highest values of all. This is an incredible poster from a historical moment in the band's career. Zeppelin played 4 nights at the Boston Tea Party in January 1969, as a part of their very first North American tour. Although only three of these dates are listed on the poster, a fourth was added at the last minute on January 26th due to overwhelming fan demand. That gig alone is said to have foretold what was to come in the absolutely colossal career of one of rock n' roll history's greatest bands. Though Zeppelin only had one album's worth of original material at the time, they played for over four hours, pulling out a myriad of covers from The Beatles, Elvis, and more. John Paul Jones remembered it as “the key Zeppelin gig, the one that put everything into focus”.
The Boston Tea Party venue is one of those pockets of poster collecting that frustrate collectors and dealers alike. The print runs were minuscule, so the survival rates are painfully low. The hottest pieces were absorbed into top collections decades ago and rarely come up for sale. This is an AMAZING opportunity to purchase a historical artifact!
