This is a VERY early Metallica flyer produced for the band's FIRST appearance in Los Angeles! The show took place at The Troubadour on August 18th, 1982. The band had formed just one year prior and still included Dave Mustaine, who would later form Megadeth, and was replaced in Metallica the following year by Kirk Hammett. The flyer references the band's appearance on the "Metal Massacre" compilation,  the band's first-ever commercial recording, released on Metal Blade Records earlier that year. It also promotes the band's E.P., available on September 1st through High Velocity Records, which never actually got released. Amazingly, this rare issue remains in MINT condition!

Metallica has since become one of the most influential heavy metal bands of all time. Their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009 included their current lineup of James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo, and Lars Ulrich, as well as former band members Jason Newsted and Cliff Burton. They were ranked number one on VH1's Greatest Metal Bands list.
