This rare original handbill announced the 13th Floor Elevators appearing at Doris Miller Auditorium in Austin, Texas on January 7th, 1967. Texas native Roger Kynard, "Roky" Erickson was a founding member of The 13th Floor Elevators and a pioneer of the psychedelic rock genre. The group was a major innovator of '60s Rock & the San Francisco Sound, and their influence has been far-reaching. They were the first band to use the term "psychedelic rock" to describe their sound.
