This poster was created by artist Rick Turner for a Halloween event in 1976 at the Soap Creek Saloon in Austin, Texas, featuring the Uranium Savages. Rick Turner was part of the early Austin poster artist group scene along with Kerry Awn, Guy Juke, Micael Priest, and others, revolving around several Texas venues during the 1970s. The Soap Creek Saloon was a small venue in Austin that attracted many of the local hippies and cowboys to the music scene there, which was already a hot spot due to other area venues like Armadillo World Headquarters. Often, some of the same artists would design posters for both venues.
