"Shakedown Street" was the tenth Grateful Dead studio album released in November 1978 on the Arista record label. The album artwork was a fine creation by the legendary Gilbert Shelton. In the early days, Shelton was the art director of the Vulcan Gas Company, along with Jim Franklin of Armadillo World Headquarters fame. Shelton went on to become one of the most well-known underground Comix artists of all time. He was one of the founders of “Rip Off Press” and was best known for his hilarious and popular “Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers” comix. A promo poster for one of the world's most beloved bands!
