The Commodores were a funk/soul Motown group that rose to fame in the late 1970s. They were perhaps best known for being Lionel Richie's band before he went solo. This poster announced their appearance at the Athena Cinema Theatre in Athens. Ohio on February 12th, 1973. Though the band initially formed in 1968, they wouldn't release their debut studio album, Machine Gun, until the following year.
