Many would agree that the legendary Zap Comix was one of the most significant & important comic book series in the entire history of comic books! It began as an adults-only groundbreaker and soon became a living, breathing chronicle produced by brilliant artists with individual creative voices like Robert Crumb, Rick Griffin, Victor Moscoso, Gilbert Shelton, and many more.

This lot features Zap Comix issue #13 with a cover designed by the legendary Victor Moscoso in 1994. This was the first issue of Zap Comix that was published after the death of Rick Griffin, an esteemed poster artist and Zap Comix contributor who had originally been slated to produce the cover art for this issue. Moscoso's art pays homage to Griffin by emulating his style. Griffin was well known for his surf art as well as his use of the flying eyeball, both of which are referenced in this image.
