This lot features Promethean Enterprises No. 2 of the SF Bay Area-based Underground ArtZine/comic Promethean Enterprises. The series, which ran for only five issues, was founded by Jim Vadeboncoeur Jr., Bud Plant, and Al Davoren, with this issue featuring cover artwork by the legendary Rick Griffin. The design was originally on a handbill that advertised the event. Rick Griffin reused the design when creating the beautiful commemorative poster that we offer in our auction from time to time for the June 13th, 1969, Who Hollywood Palladium concert. We've never offered this issue in our auction before!
