The Armadillo opened in Austin just after the closing of the Vulcan Gas Company. It went on to become the premier venue in that musically rich city from 1970 to 1980. This legendary club offered an incredibly eclectic range of performers in its 10-year tenure. The posters from these shows represent one of the greatest collections of poster art available anywhere. This piece was designed by noted Austin area poster artist Danny Garrett and advertises the bicentennial New Year's Eve concert on 12/31/75 with one of the venue’s longest running “house” bands, Asleep At The Wheel. This amazing-looking original Armadillo poster is in museum-quality condition with no nicks, cuts, tears, or pinholes!
