Cab Calloway was one of the most popular American jazz artists of the 1930s, recording prolifically for Brunswick Records and Decca’s Vocalion Records. His storied career carried on for more than six decades. In 1961 and 1962, more than thirty years into his career, Calloway toured with the Harlem Globetrotters and played during halftime. This cardboard poster was produced for a pair of Saturday dates in Oakland, California, on one of these tours in January 1961. Items featuring Calloway are harder to find with each passing year. Original cardboard posters are super popular and remain one of the most highly sought-after types of concert memorabilia ever known. We've never auctioned another example of this poster before!
Condition: a little water damage.
