Fats Domino was a pioneering figure in the birth of rock and roll. The New Orleans native brought the rich musical heritage of his hometown into the mainstream with hits like “Ain’t That a Shame,” “Blueberry Hill,” and “I’m Walkin”. By the mid-1950s, Fats Domino was one of the first Black artists to achieve widespread crossover success, helping to break racial barriers in popular music. His influence can be heard in the music of The Beatles, Elvis Presley (who once called Domino “the real king of rock and roll”), and countless others. This RARE cardboard poster from June 1961 announced his appearance at the Klamath Falls Auditorium in Oregon.

This poster was produced by the Tilghman Press company out of Oakland CA. Their promotional material had a consistent and familiar appearance to them similar to classic boxing-style concert items from the early days of rock n roll. Very few original Tilghman Press posters exist today because they were printed in extremely small quantities!
