Presenting just the second example of this rare original first printing Grateful Dead/Hell's Angels Poster to ever appear in our auction!

This poster was created to quickly get the word out about a party in honor of Hells Angels member Gino Heinicke. He was killed by the Gypsy Jokers (a rival biker gang) in Golden Gate Park during the summer of 1969. This concert featured the Grateful Dead, the Cleveland Wrecking Company and Ice. It was held at the legendary Longshoremen’s Hall in San Francisco on July 16th, exactly one month before the Dead went to Woodstock.

This show was the eighth AND FINAL PERFORMANCE the Grateful Dead ever played at Longshoreman's Hall! The longtime association between the Hell’s Angels and the Grateful Dead goes back to the band's earliest days. The well-known Motorcycle club staged several events over the years that featured the Dead. The posters and handbills from these occurrences are some of the most desirable and valuable paper Grateful Dead advertisements ever created! This piece was printed on Heavy coated stock.

Condition Details: Tackholes in corners, creases, tear right corner, writing on reverse.
