Austin, Texas, has a rich musical tradition dating back to the 1930s. Often spoken of in the same breath as Nashville and New Orleans, Austin is considered an American sweet spot of musical collaboration and innovation. During the 1960s, a small group of students began promoting Psychedelic and Blues concerts in the Austin area. They were originally known as the Electric Grandmother. Later, they became the Vulcan Gas Company and eventually opened a venue under the same name.

This poster was designed by the amazing Gilbert Shelton. Shelton was the art director for the Vulcan along with Jim Franklin of Armadillo World Headquarters fame. Shelton went on to become one of the most well-known underground Comix artists of all time.  Extremely SCARCE! Bid accordingly.
