This original poster features Big Brother & The Holding Company in their prime with Janis Joplin, at San Francisco's California Hall during late June of 1967. Blue Cheer and Congress of Wonders were also on the bill. Everything changed for Janis Joplin when she joined Big Brother and the Holding Company. That band, because of her addition, went on to become a major force in the emerging San Francisco psychedelic rock scene. In 1967 she quickly gained national attention after her performance at the Monterey Pop Festival.

Blue Cheer was one the great unsung bands of the era. Their hard driving distorted sound was a major influence for future Heavy metal and hard rock groups.
