This is the first example of this vintage, original Grateful Dead poster to appear in our auction, though we have previously offered the handbill, which sold in April 2023 for $600! This rare poster promotes the band appearing at Springer's Hall in Portland & McArthur Court, University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon on May 30th & 31st, 1969. A real Pacific Northwest treasure! The split-fountain color design features the round photo of the Dead and extended family taken by Thomas Weir (which also appeared on the back cover of the Aoxomoxoa album), and lettering designed by the late great Portland artist Gary Ewing. Very few of these exist in circulation today.
