The Amazing Rhythm Aces got their start in Memphis Tennessee performing American roots music mixed with Southern rock. Their hit song "Third Rate Romance" increased their popularity during the 1970s and made waves on the charts 5 months before this run of shows at the historic Armadillo along with the Cate Brothers. This amazing original poster was designed by noted Austin artist Danny Garrett!
The Armadillo World Headquarters opened in Austin just after the closing of the Vulcan Gas Company. It went on to become the premiere venue in that musically rich city from 1970-1980. This legendary club offered an incredibly eclectic range of performers in its 10-year tenure. The posters from these shows represent one of the greatest collections of poster art available anywhere.
