Starting bid: $10.00
This lot is part of a long-held collection of scarce, original printing posters acquired from an ex-employee of promoter John F. Leonard, who founded Records-Hawaii after moving to Honolulu in 1968. A year later he started JFL Concerts, which brought many big acts to Hawaii including: The Jacksons, Journey and Janis Joplin. Leonard's company also published Sunbums, a free bi-weekly Honolulu newspaper connecting rock music to the local entertainment industry. To save money, he often had his concert posters & advertising material produced on thin newsprint paper he had leftover from his Sunbums stock.
This poster was created for a Rod Stewart & The Faces run of shows on September 9th and 10th, 1975. It is printed on thin newsprint paper and was an insert to a rare local magazine started by John Leonard called Sunbums. That is how he circulated a lot of the posters.
Condition: Handling, crease center.
