This poster was created for Detroit's own psychedelic band The Frost at the Grande Ballroom in 1969. The talented lead guitar player from the group Dick Wagner also performed with David Bowie and Lou Reed several years later!
This scarce piece is 100% original with no restoration. All posters from the Grande are highly sought after and very collectible. Why? Because these posters were printed in tiny runs. The Grande Ballroom was the epicenter of the 60’s scene in the upper Midwest. The dance hall scene in San Francisco was distinctly different from that in Detroit mostly in character and flavor however both of these cities would be instrumental in the development of psychedelic rock! We have only auctioned ONE other example of this poster in all our years holding auctions. Wow!
