This original handbill was produced to promote a number of shows held at La Cave in Cleveland, Ohio in the Fall of 1968. Performers included the Velvet Underground, Ten Years After, Soft Machine, The James Cotton Blues Band, Traffic, and more. As noted by the COA, these Velvets shows were the first ones to feature Doug Yule, who joined the band after the departure of John Cale. Additionally, the provenance of this handbill can be traced directly back to the Velvet Underground, as it was originally acquired from the widow of Sterling Morrison, a guitar player and founding member of the band.
