Presenting the finest quality condition CGC Graded example of this Grateful Dead Handbill issue to appear in our auction! This is the second state version of this handbill that replaces Joan Baez and Mimi Farina with Bola Sete. Stanley Mouse and the late great Alton Kelley borrowed from pop culture once again -- enlisting Pooh and Piglet to advertise this free afternoon show at Mt Tamalpais Outdoor Theater in 1966. The concert was a benefit for the congressional campaign of antiwar candidate Phil Drath. Later that evening the Dead also performed at the Fillmore (BG-30).

Let's be honest, memorabilia from the counter-culture 1960s appeals to a certain subset of the population. This issue featuring Winnie The Pooh can easily contend as one of the most popular images from the 1960s that has true broad-based mass appeal.
