This is the FIRST time we are offering this rare, original printing poster in our auction! The famed Hells Angel & Artist - Gut (Allen Turk), created this memorable 1968 Grateful Dead issue. This concert was held on January 17th, Ben Franklin’s Birthday, and was the grand opening for the 6-month-long Carousel / Grateful Dead / Jefferson Airplane experiment. The Carousel Ballroom was a short-lived venture that was funded and managed by the Dead and Airplane. After they lost enough money and realized it was not their game, the space was taken over by Bill Graham and became the Fillmore West.
