This postcard was created by artist Gary Grimshaw for Janis Joplin & Big Brother at the Grande Ballroom in 1968. The dance hall scene in San Francisco was distinctly different from that in Detroit in the sixties, mostly in character and flavor, but both of these cities would be instrumental in the development of psychedelic rock. When the bands from the West Coast showed up in the motor city, there would be an instant kinship. When the Bay area Big Brother played at the Grande in 1968, they were as well received as they were at the Fillmore or Avalon. The postcard offers the same great artwork as the original poster for just a fraction of the cost! 100% original with no restoration.
Condition Details: Stains, corner bumps.
