This scarce, original concert poster was designed by underground comix artist Skip Williamson to promote the appearances of Wilderness Road and more at Alice's in Chicago on March 2nd, 1970. The rock group Wilderness Road was originally formed to raise money for the Chicago Seven. The band also held staged events in the early 1970s such as the "Passover-Easter Spectacular" and "The Last Brunch". Along with contemporaries like Robert Crumb and Jay Lynch, artist Skip Williamson helped shape the counterculture comic scene, producing irreverent, politically charged, and often controversial works. Aside from comix, Williamson contributed to various alternative publications, including PlayboyNational Lampoon, and High Times. He left a lasting mark on the underground art world and pop culture at large.
