This Steppenwolf issue promoted the band's appearance at the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino, California on June 14th, 1969. The Canadian band was one of the more successful bands of the era with huge paydays for the hits Born to be Wild and Magic Carpet Ride. They were joined by Grass Roots. The venue - a now-defunct 10,000-seat arena in southern California - quickly became historic for housing some of the most amazing concerts throughout the sixties & seventies including Louis Armstrong The Grateful Dead Ike & Tina Turner Elvis Presley and many more.
