This rare, first printing poster was produced for a stop on The Grateful Dead's fall tour in 1971 for two nights at the Chicago Auditorium Theater. A very cool 100% original Dead poster from 50+ years ago! Pigpen did not attend these shows, as he had been absent from the lineup since August. Keith Godchaux was still relatively new in the group. Despite Pig's absence, these shows are still fan favorites. The double live album Skull & Roses (Skull Fuck) with the same Mouse/Kelley design on the cover would be released just days after these shows took place (October 24th). The New Riders of the Purple Sage opened both nights. This is the first example of this Chicago poster to ever appear in our auction!

Condition Details: Paper loss, adhesive on back, tear, faded.
