This original T-shirt is hand-signed in black ink by the artist Stanley Mouse!
Before moving to San Francisco and designing posters for Bill Graham and Chet Helms, American Illustrator Stanley Mouse was a Hot Rod artist. Encouraged by his father, the two traveled the hot rod show circuit, where Mouse airbrushed custom T-shirts for fans. He and Ed ” Big Daddy Roth” rose to the top of the Weirdo/ Hot Rod Art genre world. Always entrepreneurial, Mouse started his own mail-order T-shirt company, and in 1964, a line of plastic Models with his creations was marketed to hobby shops.
The shirt for auction was printed in 1963 for the Winternationals Hot Rod show in Los Angeles and was culled from Stanley's archive.
Condition Details: Unworn and new. Some stain back of collar and a tiny pinprick stain below collar above T in Winternationals.
