In summer of 1968 Iron Butterfly was a large concert draw with the release of their best selling album “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida”. This original poster promotes a historic concert with Country Joe & The Fish at the legendary Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland. It’s featured in the Art of Rock book on page 304. The only reason this amazing and rare poster has not been certified by CGC is because of its large size.
This beautiful oversized silkscreen was produced by Lou Stovall with artist Ray McNeil. The print run for these original posters was very small and only a few specimens remain available today for collectors in any condition. For 30 years the McNeil / Stoval team made a large volume of prints dealing with political, educational, arts-related and corporate topics - many of which are now collected artworks. This poster was printed on thick white stock.
