This Savoy Brown 1975 Armadillo poster was designed by Ken Featherston and printed on white stock and goldenrod-colored paper. Both versions are original pre-concert printings and this one here is the white stock version. It exhibits interesting imagery including a flying guitar and a woman's behind. The design of the poster was dedicated to artist Ken Featherston's father.
The Armadillo World Headquarters opened in Austin just after the closing of the Vulcan Gas Company. It went on to become the premiere venue in that musically rich city from 1970-1980. This legendary club offered an incredibly eclectic range of performers in its 10-year tenure. The posters from these shows represent one of the greatest collections of poster art available anywhere.
Condition: Top left and right corner crunches, stain on reverse that shows through front bottom right, minor handling.
