This 1971 Official Warner Brothers Records promo poster for The Grateful Dead was produced around the time of the Skull & Roses (Skull Fuck) live album. This promo on heavy board stock paper was sent to record stores and retailers for advertising, not to be sold to the general public. The image is a great photo of the band taken by Bob Seidemann, which is also displayed in the gatefold of the double-live album opposite the "dead freaks unite" section. Distribution of these early promotional posters was extremely limited, since they were primarily manufactured to promote LP's in record stores. The expense of the window card stock likely limited the number of copies of this promo.
