Presenting this ULTRA RARE cardboard poster featuring Jefferson Airplane from November 17th, 1969 at Gray Chapel at Ohio Wesleyan University. This is the FIRST time this original pre-concert printing poster is appearing in our auction, as well as the first time it is appearing in ANY public auction! It announced the iconic psychedelic rock band's appearance at the Student Government Social Commitee's second fall-term concert. The print is a small run, screen printed poster that was never intended to survive the past 50 plus years.
The consignor of the poster got it from the original owner who was a Wesleyan Student at the time. We believe this to be a one of a kind find as we can trace no previous sales of this poster. The band was at its tumultuous best at the time, just 3 months after their performance at Woodstock. See our additional photo of an announcement from page 8 of the "Ohio Wesleyan Transcript" newspaper, printed 5 days before the event.
This poster could be one of the rarest Jefferson Airplane posters on the planet. In 2022 we auctioned a 1969 CSNY concert poster produced from this college for $4,200.00.
