Here we have a HIGH GRADE quality condition, extremely early and rare Original Handbill featuring The Great Society, Jefferson Airplane, The Mystery Trend and many more at the Fillmore Auditorium on December 10th, 1965. The event was the "Appeal II" which was the second of a series of three fundraiser events organized by Bill Graham after Mime Troupe founder Ronnie Davis was indicted for performing in public parks without a permit. The third fundraiser (Appeal III) featured a performance by the Warlocks, later to be known as the Grateful Dead. A couple months later, Graham was running his noted numbered series of concerts at the Fillmore.
This handbill very seldom surfaces in decent, much less top quality condition, for collectors. Back in 2017, another auction house sold an example in much lesser condition for $8,812.50. The 9.8 graded example you see here is without a doubt the highest quality condition example we've ever auctioned, and it is certified by CGC!
