This lot is part of a group of recently unearthed original Grande Ballroom material acquired decades ago by a collector intimately connected to the late 1960s Detroit music scene. We now have the pleasure of offering these rare, difficult to find relics to the collecting community in this auction!

This Original Postcard designed by Carl Lundgren features the great Vanilla Fudge, along with the MC5 and Thyme Rationals in Detroit during December 1967. The group's original members recorded five albums together between 1967-69 before disbanding. When Led Zeppelin first toured the United States in early 1969, they opened for the Vanilla Fudge at some of their shows. The Grande Ballroom series produced some of the finest imagery from the 1960’s music scene. There was a poster produced for this Vanilla Fudge run of shows as well, but in many cases promoter Russ Gibb chose to only produce postcards to promote events. That being the case, Grande cards and card sets have become one of the most highly sought after items by serious collectors.
