This promo poster for the UK re-release of the “Don’t Look Back” movie was produced in 1970 by designers Alan Aldridge and Harry Willock. British artist Alan Aldridge is known in the poster world for creating memorable images for The Beatles. He was given the nickname "The Man with the Kaleidoscope Eyes" after the verse in the song "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds". American film maker D.A. Pennebaker produced the documentary film “Don’t Look Back” utilizing footage from Bob Dylan’s legendary 1965-66 world tour. The movie was originally released in 1967 and contained the story behind Dylan’s transition from folk / acoustic “protest songs” to heavier electric rock. Dylan’s shift in musical style created a widely discussed subsequent backlash from fans & critics. In recent years some footage from Pennebaker’s “Don’t Look Back” film was included in Martin Scorsese's comprehensive Dylan documentary "No Direction Home".
