Underground comix artist Skip Williamson designed this original concert poster to promote the appearances of The Byrds, Al Kooper, Bangor Flying Circus, One Man's Family and the cast of "Second City" at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago on May 1st, 1970. It's a fairly rare poster and we haven't seen many of them flying around.
Along with contemporaries like Robert Crumb and Jay Lynch, Skip Williamson helped shape the countercultural comic scene, producing irreverent, politically charged, and often controversial works. Aside from comix, Williamson contributed to various alternative publications, including Playboy, National Lampoon, and High Times. He left a lasting mark on the underground art world and pop culture at large.
