This poster was designed for a tribute concert to Family Dog founder, Chet Helms that took place at San Francisco's Maritime Hall in April 1994. The event featured music from Steve Miller, Gregg Allman, Big Brother, and more. The poster sports the Family Dog logo that appears on each poster in the original Family Dog numbered series. Chet Helms is the patron saint of Haight Ashbury. He was one of the pioneers of the San Francisco psychedelic scene and was instrumental in creating the 1960s counterculture. As the guiding force behind the Family Dog, he helped create some of the finest poster art of the era. According to all accounts, he was a very fine gentleman and was well loved by musicians and audiences alike.
