The Stills-Young Band was a collaboration between Stephen Stills and Neil Young, two prominent members of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSNY). They embarked on a tour in 1976 to support their album "Long May You Run," released in September of that year. This Randy Tuten issue promoted the tour's California stops at Cow Palace and the Concord Pavilion on August 17th and 19th, 1976.

The tour was famously turbulent and brief. Despite the initial excitement, tensions between Stills and Young surfaced during the tour. The duo's differing musical directions and personal issues led to conflicts. Midway through the tour, Neil Young abruptly left, leaving Stills to complete the remaining dates on his own. Young reportedly left a note for Stills that read, "Dear Stephen, funny how some things that start spontaneously end that way. Eat a peach. Neil."
