This original handbill from April of 1974 announced a three-day festival to be held at the Marin Veterans Memorial Grounds in San Rafael California. It was the Golden State Bluegrass Festival! This event featured powerhouse performances by such legendary names as Doc & Merle Watson, Vassar Clements, Ralph Stanley, John Hartford, Jimmy Martin, Mac Wiseman and many more! On the 26th, the Great American String Band performed with members Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, Richard Green and Taj Mahal. Carousel Ballroom artist Rick Shubb designed this beautiful handbill.
Condition Details: light stains at top edge, crease in top left corner, minor blemishes.
