The FD-49 Postcard features artwork by Victor Moscoso that pops off the page and into your brain. The image was based on "Jupiter and Thetis", a beautiful 1811 painting by French neoclassical artist Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres. The art is a great example of Moscoso's incredible talent as a designer and illustrator. This particular colorful issue is underappreciated and undervalued in collecting circles. Surprisingly, it is often overlooked in the Family Dog series.
Original Postcards are without a doubt, one of the fastest-growing segments of the marketplace for vintage 1960’s concert poster art. These beautiful postcards display the same iconic art, featuring the same classic bands, are created by the same legendary artists, and are linked to the same moments in history as their far larger posters. Not only are these postcards a tiny fraction of the cost of the posters, but they are also FAR EASIER to store and collect.
