Blood Sweat & Tears was a late ‘60s Jazz /Rock band that was originally formed by Al Kooper of The Blues Project. Kooper left the band in March of 1968 just a month after the release of the Band's first album. Kooper must have departed just shortly after this performance and this poster serves as a memory of that event. After Kooper left the band went on to become a top 40 hit machine with the addition of Canadian singer David Clayton Thomas.
Also worthy of note is the supporting Psychedelic Stooges on the lineup this night in Detriot. All original first-print posters from the Grande Ballroom are highly sought after and very collectible. Why? Because these posters were printed in extremely small runs of just 500 the Grande was the epicenter of the 60’s scene in the upper Midwest and the artistic quality of the artworks rivals anything done out west. We expect a great amount of spirited bidding on this lot considering how rarely Grande material surfaces for collectors!
