This ONE-OF-A-KIND original colored pencil drawing on paper called "Natural" was created by artist Bob Schnepf in 1969. With regards to this particular piece, the artist has stated: "I did that in the late 60s just before I went to Hawaii. I often did doodles in the evenings since I wasn't into TV. I only did a handful in pencil. Usually they were ink drawings".
Artist Bob Schnepf was a large contributor to several memorable images in the Family Dog series. After the Family Dog, he continued to design posters for other events, album covers, T-shirts and book jackets. He also created a comic book for the band Canned Heat. Schnepf soonafter adopted the first name "Raphael" and no longer goes by Bob, except in reference to his earlier work. During his later years, he developed an interest in airbrush and glass painting work, as well as commercial art. He currently teaches art workshops in the Portland area.
