This is the first CGC Graded example of this seldom-seen, Randy Tuten designed Great Highway Original Handbill to appear in our auction! Here the Flying Burrito Brothers, Cat Mother & the All-Night Newsboys, and the Rhythm Dukes (featuring Jerry Miller and Bill Champlin) are featured for this 3-day run of shows in June 1970. Approximately seven months after The Family Dog was forced out of the Avalon Ballroom, Chet Helms opened up shop on the Great Highway. The site was at the former Edgewater Ballroom part of the Playland at the Beach complex. Due to budget constraints, relatively few posters were produced for the shows at 660 Great Highway. Mostly handbills like this one were used to promote those concerts and they were printed in small quantities.
