Here is an uncommon Family Dog original handbill produced for New Riders of the Purple Sage, Garden of Delights, and Apple Jam at 660 Great Highway in San Francisco for three nights in October 1969. The artist is unknown. Approximately seven months after The Family Dog was forced out of the Avalon Ballroom, Chet Helms opened up shop on the Great Highway. The site was at the former Edgewater Ballroom part of the Playland at the Beach complex. Due to budget constraints, relatively few posters were produced for the shows at 660 Great Highway. Mostly handbills like this one were used to promote those concerts and they were printed in small quantities.
