We have here for you the 1966 Original First Printing concert poster of the first Grande Ballroom design artist Gary Grimshaw created for Russ Gibb (Uncle Russ Travel Agency on the poster). Detroit's MC5 were the headliners.

The great MC5 started its music career in Michigan and developed a reputation for energetic and polemical live performances. They were a mainstay at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit. Their 1969 debut album Kick Out the Jams landed them in the history books. Their lifespan was unfortunately short-lived and in 1972 the band came to an end - just three years after their debut record.

The Grande Ballroom was the epicenter of the 60s scene in the upper Midwest and the artistic quality of the artworks rivals anything done out west.
