This poster by artist Bugs Bramley promoted the "Ninth Annual Central Park Smoke In And Parade" held in 1976. The art style exhibited appears to pay homage to Gilbert Shelton's Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers comics. This event, which boasted a parade and an "airlift of joints", was a pro-cannabis event orchestrated by the Yippie movement. The Yippies were formed by a group of activists, including Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Paul Krassner, and others, who sought to blend the countercultural ethos of the hippie movement with radical politics and anti-authoritarianism.
