This Original Handbill was produced for Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention appearing at The Phoenix Star Theatre on May 4th, 1968. The Mothers had recently released their scathing satirical take on the "Hippie" scene on their 3rd studio album "We're only in it for the Money". The album was a satirical concept album that mocked both left and right-wing politics, especially the hippie movement. In particular, the album pokes fun at The Beatles' 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Zappa was notorious for his disdain for hippies and wrote multiple songs throughout his career making fun of them.

Condition: adhesive and tape residue, pinholes, toning.
