This scarce original poster was produced to promote the Strawberry Fields Festival, to be held in Ontario on August 7, 8,9, 1970. Led Zeppelin (did not perform) and many acts of the era were scheduled to appear at the festival. Lenoard Cohen, who was also listed on the poster, also did not perform. The event was supposed to be "Canada's Woodstock" but never really went down in history as such. The festival seemed to be plagued from the planning stages, with permission for the initial location in Ontario being denied, and then the festival being moved to New Brunswick after lots of red tape. The original promotional material is nevertheless scarce and difficult to find. This is the first example of this poster to ever appear in our auction!
Condition: taped to cardboard at top.
