We are pleased to offer this rare Monterey Jazz original program! 1967 was the 10th Anniversary of the popular Monterey Jazz Festival founded by San Francisco jazz radio broadcaster Jimmy Lyons.
Pop culture is all too familiar with the legendary Monterey POP fest but the performances of Big Brother with Janis Joplin on September 16th & 17th of the Monterey JAZZ Festival two months later are just as notable.
Jazz and blues legends Dizzy Gillespie B. B. King Ornette Coleman and Richie Havens also performed during the historical 3-day festival. Vintage concert programs from the 60’s are harder to find with each passing year. As quantities of available programs decrease the more collectible they become.
