This beautiful LARGE original poster features Spirit at The Musicarnival in Warrensville Heights Ohio during the summer of 1971 with Floating Opera in support.

Before the Musicarnival closed its doors in 1975, the venue hosted a number of famous musicians and rock bands like Zappa & the Mothers of Invention, Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton, Dave Brubeck, The Who and Led Zeppelin.

Spirit which guitarist Randy California headed started in the late sixties. By this time in 1971, they had transitioned from a pure psychedelic band to a much more eclectic sound. Guitarist Steve Welkom's band Floating Opera was heavily blues rock-oriented and had just released their debut album earlier in the spring.
