This RARE Grateful Dead issue is appearing in our auction for the FIRST time! The cardboard poster advertised "A Weekend at The Beach" at Ventura County Fairgrounds on July 21st and 22nd 1984. This was nearly 20 years into the Dead's three-decade lifespan with Jerry Garcia. This poster remains in NEAR MINT condition.
The historic Colby Poster Printing Company produced promotional material between 1948 and 2012 and they became legendary for their signature fluorescent inks and bold all-caps typography although none of the original staff had any formal design training. They were members of the letterpress union the screen printers union and the typesetters union. Original Printing Cardboard posters are super popular and remain one of the most highly sought after type of concert memorabilia ever known!
